About Phyllis Brady
Phyllis Brady moved to Florida in the 1950's from Detroit area. She raised 3 children as a single mother often working 2 or 3 jobs to make ends meet. Phyllis was very atheletic; a fine golfer in her day. She always had a creative spirit but it wasn't until after her retirement around the age of 69 that Phyllis began her journey into painting. She is an independent thinker and has her own way of doing things. She's studied under many fine teachers and formed her own unique "style" in everything she does. Phyllis works with watercolors primarily. Every brush stroke is well thought out as is aparent in many of her paintings. She often will put the painting on the floor to get a better perspective on the piece and will sometimes add a few well placed strokes. She is an inspiration to those who have the privilege of knowing her. She is 85 on 11/28/2012. Her favorite artist is Georgia O'Keefe.
On 1-1-2013 Phyllis fell at her home and broke her wrist, shoulder and hip. She is a trooper and working hard every day to recover. Proceeds from her art will go to offset her medical bills.
